

On February 1, 2019, John Charles Wehinger (Jack) of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 94. Jack was born to John Charles Wehinger, Sr. and Angela Kunnen Wehinger on January 13, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jack took Betty Henkenburns (deceased) to be his bride in 1948. They were happily married for 55 years and had 6 children. In 1964, Jack and Betty moved the family from Price Hill in Cincinnati to Clearwater, Florida where they remained for the rest of their lives. Jack was a Letter Carrier with United State Postal Service for 35 years. He served in the United States Navy and was a World War II Veteran. Jack attended Catholic School and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cincinnati. He was also a member of Light of Christ Catholic Church in Clearwater. Jack had a passion for life and was dedicated to his family. He and Betty not only raised 3 boys and 3 girls, but they also had a very special bond with their granddaughter, Melissa, whom they raised. Jack was known for his pleasant ways and beautiful smile. He was always full of jokes and good advice. Jack liked all sports and was a Reds and Rays fan. His idea of a good meal was a plate full of Skyline Chili, bratwurst or pickled herring and an afternoon snack of saltines and limburger cheese. He was an expert at solving the daily newspaper jumbles and crossword puzzles. Jack had a long and full life with his legacy living thru his family. He will be missed by all and we will love him forever. So long Jack, Rest in Peace and we will meet again.
The Wehinger family would like to invite you to join us in a Funeral Mass on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church located at 1955 Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida. Also, following the Mass please join us in a Celebration of Life Luncheon at East Bay Country Club located at 702 Country Club Dr., Largo, Florida. Jack will be inurned at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, Florida on a later date. In lieu of flowers, please remember Jack thru contributions to Seasons Hospice located at 17757 U. S. 19 Suite 175, Clearwater, Fl. 33764.
Jack is survived by: BROTHER-IN-LAW: Charles Kerekes; CHILDREN: John J. Wehinger, Marianne Wehinger May, Thomas Wehinger (Patricia), Peggy Wehinger Gottchall (Stephen), Daniel Wehinger, and Susan Wehinger Gross; GRANDCHILDREN: Jennifer Wehinger Mustonen (Chris), Joshua Wehinger (Lari), Jessica Wehinger Perry (Troy), John May, Zach May(April), Gina Staudinger (Scott), Tina James (Vince), Chrissy Graves , Terra Larson, Paul Larson (Stephanie), Daniel Wehinger, Dillon Wehinger, Melissa Gross (Brandon); Jack was also survived by 27 great grandchildren
