Joseph Edwards Atkinson, age 65, of Land O Lakes, Florida passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. A true Florida Native, born in Tampa, Florida December 15, 1959 to parents Dorothea and Robert Atkinson. Joe graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978. After finishing school, Joe spent over 30 years of his life working as a construction worker. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Florida wildlife areas.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parent Dorothea and Robert, and brother Bobby Atkinson.
He is survived by his brother Benjamin (Marie) Atkinson, sister Julie (Jim) Townsend, nieces and nephews Tiffany Atkinson, Austin Atkinson, Trevor Atkinson, Brian Townsend, Michael Thomley, Johnny Thomley, Kenneth Atkinson, and Bobby Atkinson, Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home on Sunday February 9th, 2025 at 10:00am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am and a graveside service to follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park at 12:00pm.
