

Judy L. Phelps, 74, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Friday, November 9th, at Angel Care ALF of that city. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the IOOF section of Mason City Memorial Park Cemetery. Her cousin, Rev. Dr. F. Cole Fowler, Senior Pastor of the United Methodist Church, Aurora, Nebraska will officiate.
Judy was born in Iowa City, Iowa, the first daughter of Wilbur (Bill) and Virgie Phelps. She graduated from Mason City High. She served over 9 years in the Army traveling to many parts of the world. Later she traveled to Australia where she spent 5 years working on a sheep farm in the “out-back”. Upon returning home, she worked at Mason City Park Hospital before moving to Clearwater, Florida where she worked for over 25 years at the Morton Plant Hospital as a medical records secretary.
Never married, the loves of her life were her cats and the Lord. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, wonderful laugh, great work ethic and her kind and thoughtful personality.
Survivors include: brother Harry “Bill” Phelps & Pat Kelly of St. Petersburg, FL; twin brother Gene Phelps and his wife Connie (Young) of Peoria, AZ; sisters Nette (Phelps) Mammaro and her husband Bill of Crosbyton, TX; Betty Togersen of Avondale, AZ; and sister-in-law Noreen (David) Phelps; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother David.
She will be deeply missed.
