

Karen M. Kuechler passed away on December 2, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Karen was born on March 21, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Christabel Ellington Michaelis and George Michaelis.
Karen attended West High School in Columbus, where she was an active participant in theatrical performances. She later attended The Ohio State University, where she met the love of her life, Jack Kuechler. She and Jack were married on October 25, 1958, and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year shortly before her passing. Early in their married life, Karen worked as a speech therapist.
In addition to her beloved husband, Karen leaves children Jeffrey and Kristin, with daughter Michelle having passed 20 years ago. She is also survived by grandchildren Mikel, Bethany, and Cassandra Jayne, who adored their grandmother, as well as a great-grandson, Gideon, and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was a hard worker and dedicated wife and mother, and remained active until late in life, at one time running two tennis leagues. She had also volunteered over the years with the Girl Scouts, and often offered to babysit for her neighbors. She had a great fondness for people and animals. The world will miss her grace, charm and kindness.
