

Kenneth “Ken” Werner Dean, 63, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born on August 25, 1961, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, to Marian and Marion L. Dean.
He graduated from Titusville High School in Titusville, Pennsylvania class of 1979, where he was on the wrestling team. Following high school, Ken joined the Navy serving proudly for four years in Charleston, South Carolina, where he met his wife, Beth.
Ken worked for Nabisco for 17 years and most recently he was the Sales and Operations Manager for AFFCO Provisions (Boars Head) for the last 23 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed golf with his son and friends, a nice cold beer at his favorite breweries, tinkering in the yard and around his home, following his Tampa Bay sports teams; travel, and visiting family and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him with his kind heart and generous spirit.
Ken was proud of his Catholic faith, converting and surprising his bride, Beth, by making his First Communion and Confirmation on their wedding day.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Beth Dean;daughter, Kelly Dean, son, Stephen Dean; mother, Marian Dean; sisters, Debra Cook, Karen (Stan) Smith; brother, Donald (Julie) Dean; mother-in-law, Marilyn Shirkman; sisters-in law Joan (Chuck) Ogle, Sandy (Joe) Barnes, Nancy Shirkman; brother-in-law Jay (Layla) Shirkman; his pets, Willow and Niles “ aka Bad Decision”; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Marion “Bud” Dean and father-in-law, James E. Shirkman.
A memorial mass will be held at 11am, on Friday February 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 750 San Salvador Drive, Dunedin, Florida 34698. Ken will be laid be to rest at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:30am, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida, 33513.
A memorial mass will also be held at St. Titus Roman Catholic Church at a later date, 513 W. Main Street, Titusville, Pennsylvania 16354.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation- Malignant Hematology Research to be designated for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Research in Ken’s honor.
