Lauren Melbourne Preston, age 85, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born on March 17, 1939 in Waterbury, CT to Melbourne Preston and Mildred Hull Preston. Lauren is survived by his loving wife, Anne Preston, sons, Scott (Michelle) Preston and Brian (Cheryl) Preston, and his grandchildren, Samuel, Mackenzie, Andenise, Brianna, and Spectre Preston.
Lauren graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and then served in Vietnam as an Army pilot. He had a long and dedicated career as a Traffic Engineer for the City of Cambridge, MA. Family life included many summers at their cottage on Cape Cod. Lauren was a man of faith, serving in many roles as an elder in his Presbyterian Church. After retirement Lauren and Anne moved to Florida and enjoyed the opportunity to cruise and travel around the world.
