He was born on July 18th 1953, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Margarita Santiago Malabe & Fundador Torres Colon.
Louis retired from a successful career as a security officer; and, has always thrived as a musician.
Louis was the High Priest of his house which meant he understood and lived out what being a servant like Yeshua really meant. He was always ready and willing to help in whatever was needed, no matter who you were, and what you needed. He had a very special gift from God in which he had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and that they belonged. As soon as you said you played an instrument, he would sign you up to play music in our Living room and/or with our band, Psalms and Percussion. Louis “loved the Lord our God with all his heart, soul, and might” (Deuteronomy 6:5) and he knew how to “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:37-39). We will miss his infectious smile, love for his family and friends, and most of all…his music!
Louis is survived by his loving wife, Janet Arlene Secher-Torres; beloved children, Jason Louis Torres (Kathleen) and Jeffrey Louis Torres; precious grandchildren, Evania Torres, Ezra Torres, Victoria Torres, Charlotte Torres, and Margarita Torres; cherished siblings, Abby Torres, Sarah Torres, and Angel Torres; and, beloved father & mother-in-law, Gerhard Secher and Teresa Secher.
A graveside service for Louis will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 12:30pm at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759. Following the graveside service will be a celebration of life at 2:30pm at Shoresh David Tampa, 4320 Bay to Bay Blvd, Tampa, FL 33629.
