Margaret A Harper

Harper, Margaret A., 98, of Palm Harbor, passed away October 8, 2018. Margaret was born August 29, 1920 in Crawford County Ohio to the late Christopher A. and Ida M. ((Phillips) Gearhart. She met William C. Harper in high school in 1933 and they were united in marriage Feb 22, 1941 in a quiet ceremony at St John Evangelical and Reformed Church in Crawford County, Ohio.

After the war, the Harpers purchased a farm. Margaret enjoyed farm life and earned money by working in a fine-and-dime store. She was also employed by several retailers including Neiman Marcus and JCPenny. The mother of three boys was also a Welcome Wagon hostess and hospital volunteer. The Harpers moved to Florida in 1977. Before moving into St. Mark Village they lived in Beacon Woods and Highland Lakes. Margaret enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, crocheting, needlework, cooking, baking, golfing, and traveling.

Margaret is survived by her three sons; six grandchildren; and six great-grand-children., She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 76 years, William Harper in January 2018, just 1 month shy of their 77th wedding anniversary.

A private family graveside service will be held in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
