Marguerite Patricia “Patti” Caccamo, 80, of Palm Harbor, Florida, ascended to Heaven on October 8, 2026. She was born on March 27, 1946, in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late Colonel Edwin Grenelle and Isabel (Ayres) Grenelle, the middle of seven children.
Patti brought care and brilliance to every room she entered and every soul she encountered. To her, no one was a “stranger.” She cherished people and worked hard for them. She both embraced beauty and created it.
Not surprisingly, hers was the heart of a teacher. She served her students well at several schools, including Harvest Temple Christian School, working as both an educator and a speech therapist. Patti later brought that same care and gift for organization to public service as Congressional Aide to Florida Congressman Mike Bilirakis.
In her later years, she served the least and littlest of these, ministering to the precious babies at The Countryside Christian Academy, where she was adored by the little ones and the staff alike. Patti’s faith colored her whole life, and many of the books she loved pointed her to prayer and to all sorts of creative ways to lift up her neighbor. Her most challenging and noble role, however, was as caretaker to her beloved adult nephew with special needs, a loving and selfless venture she took on at age 70!
Patti quite literally added color to the stage, too, at her beloved St. Francis Playhouse. There she worked on the sets, the costumes and her favorite, the makeup. Sometimes she even stepped onstage herself as one of many charismatic characters.
Patti’s humor, kindness and sparkle cultivated friendships everywhere she went, and we will all cherish our memories of her forever…
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Caccamo; her brother, Second Lieutenant Michael Grenelle; and her nephew, James Prairie.
Patti is survived by her only son, whom she adored, Andrew Sinkiewicz (Nicole); her grandson, Robert; and her siblings, William Grenelle (Pat), Major George "Ed" Grenelle, USA, Retired (Pat), Rose Grenelle, MaryAnn Carter, and Karen Klan; and nieces & nephews, William Grenelle, Paul Grenelle, Melanie Turbant, Rebecca Torrens, James Grenelle, John Prairie, Jene Prairie, and Richard Klan.
Please join us for a celebration of her beautiful life at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 19, at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Florida.
