

Shuck, Marie Britton, 77, passed away peacefully on Mon., Oct. 5 at her home in Dunedin, Florida. Born in Washington D.C. to Harold Britton, Sr. and Edith Marie Dix, she retired from the US Federal Govt. after 36 years. She worked for the Atomic Power Commission, General Accounting Office, Departments of Commerce, Health, Education and Welfare, Interior Dept., Veterans Administration, and Treasury. She married Robert Spence in 1956. They had 2 daughters, Terry and Suzanne, who live in Dunedin, FL. Marie remarried in 1974 to Leon Shuck who had 3 sons, Scot from Garrett Park, MD, Jerry from Frederick Md., and Bill from Cape Coral, FL. Marie & Leon moved to Florida from Maryland in 1981. She was a parishioner, volunteer and Sunday school teacher at Cape Coral 1st United Methodist Church from 1981 to 2012. She found great peace in her faith. Marie relocated to Dunedin, FL to be closer to her family and then became a member of Heritage Methodist Church in Clearwater, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee. She is survived by sister Ruth Ellen Britton Soroka, brother Harold Griffin Britton Jr., daughters Terry Spence and Suzanne Spence, stepsons Scot Shuck, Jerry Shuck and Bill Shuck, and 13 grandchildren. Marie enjoyed photography, music, and dancing. She was very loved and will be missed by many. Services to be held at Heritage Methodist Church, 2680 Landmark Drive, Clearwater on Sun., Oct. 18 at 2:00pm. A service in Cape Coral, FL at Cape Coral 1st United Methodist Church, 4118 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, will be held on Sat., Nov. 21 at 2:00pm.
