Mario DePlasco, 88, passed away on October 31, 2018 at the Inspired Living Memory Care facility in Tampa, Florida after a long illness. He was born in Orange, New Jersey, on January 6, 1930, son of the late Alexander and Peggy DePlasco. Preceded in death by his wife Rita DePlasco and loving father to Mark A. DePlasco, Anthony DePlasco and Rita Murphy-Maxwell, Loving grandfather to Mark A. DePlasco II, Jessica Leek, Nicole DePlasco, Alex DePlasco, Julianne York, Tara Rose Murphy, and Thomas Murphy and great grandfather to Henry Leek, Beatrix York and George Leek. Mario graduated from Aviation Career and Technical High School in Queens New York in 1948 and then joined the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War.
He was tireless in providing for his family and experienced many different career adventures. He was an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic in both the United States Air Force and with the Lockheed Corporation and finished his career working for the New York City MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority) for over 20 years.
