Marion Ruth Sudduth, 91, of Clearwater, Florida, entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the abiding peace of her faith.
Born on December 4, 1933, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Marion was the cherished daughter of the late Marion R. (née Lawrence) and Joseph Moynihan. She carried the strength, grace, and devotion of her family legacy into every chapter of her life.
Marion was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful friend to many. Her life was a reflection of unwavering faith, deep love, and joyful service. For more than 60 years, she served as a wedding coordinator and sacristan at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, Florida, where she was a founding member and cornerstone of the parish community. Her ministry touched countless lives, and her quiet, steadfast presence was a testament to her love for the Church and her enduring commitment to God.
Marion also found great joy and freedom on the ice as a lifelong figure skater. Her passion for skating took her across the country, and she continued to skate well into her 80s—often performing alongside her granddaughter. Her talent, charisma, and elegance on the ice left audiences in awe and brought her profound happiness.
She now reunites in Heaven with her beloved husband of 54 years, Norman Lee Sudduth, and her six brothers, all proud veterans who preceded her in death. Together again, they continue their family’s story in God’s eternal embrace.
Her legacy lives on through her loving children: Robert (Marcia) Sudduth, Terrance (Paulette) Sudduth, and Patricia (Chris) Gregory; her treasured grandchildren: Joshua, Joseph, Carey, William, Corrine, and Tristan; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Kyle, Austin, Sadie, Jason, and Jase. She will be deeply missed by her many extended family members and dear friends.
Marion’s warmth and energy brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. Whether she was enjoying fun walks with her grandchildren to the “alligator exercise park,” savoring orange swirl ice cream at Sun Groves, chatting over coffee with her skating friends, or keeping up with her daily pool exercises, she embraced life with grace, humor, and joy. Her days were filled with small, meaningful moments that left big impressions.
A memorial Mass celebrating Marion’s life and faith will be held at 10:30am on Monday July 1, 2025, at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Philippe Parkway, Safety Harbor, Florida 34695.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Marion’s memory to Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, where her spirit of service and love continues to inspire.
