Mark Webb, age 63, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. Mark was born in Davenport, IA. Mark was one of nine children. Going to Grandma and Grandpa Webb's farm in Iowa was a favorite childhood activity of Mark's. Visiting with cousins, helping with farm animals, and enjoying Grandma's baked goods were summer highlights. During his four years at Newman Central High School, Mark played on the Comet football team as a defensive tackle and sometimes a fullback. In 1977, he was on the first team ever from Newman to qualify for the state playoffs due in part to Mark's athleticism. When they were older, Mark's nieces and nephews remember Uncle Mark teaching them how to play butt darts. Mark enjoyed crossword puzzles, and loved to dance with Kathy in the living room. Mark and Kathy met December 22, 1989 and have been partners ever since. They loved to sit on the lanai listening to music, having beers, discussing politics and anything else. They shared a love of their schnauzers: Pepe, Buster, and Sweet Roxie Lee. Mark and Kathy had many good times with their "6-pack" friends. Mark did a perfect John Wayne impression. He enjoyed managing the Sports Pub for many years. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Homer "Bill" and Mary Webb; siblings: Ann Connell, Bill Webb, Jill Lawler, and Gina Weeks. He is survived by his wife; Kathy Bhame, siblings; Pat Horn, Kris Tyne, Barney (Dixie) Webb, R.J. Webb, Rene Pillsbury, cousins and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Mark's Life held on Saturday, March 18th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home (2853 Sunset Point Rd. Clearwater, FL 33759).
