

97, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Predeceased by her husband, Paul O. Erickson, former husband, John W. Newell, Jr., and granddaughter, Kara Hillier.
Mary was born on May 22, 1923 in Rochester, NY. She attended RIT College and graduated in 1945 with a degree in Interior Decorating and Retail.
Mary worked at Stromberg Carlson in telecommunications for many years. She retired to Palm Harbor, Florida and resided in Tarpon Lakeview Mobil Home Park for over 30 years. She was referred to as “little Mary” by her mobile home park friends and neighbors. Mary was a talented artist who loved crafting and staying fit both mentally and physically. She had a beautiful, kind spirit and infectious warmth that made her
a friend to all and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Janice (Dennis) Cozan and Patricia (Edward) Hillier, step-daughter Marsha (Rick) Ross, granddaughters Christina Cozan (Markus Kunz) and Judith (Joseph) Lombardo, step-granddaughter Loree (Tim) Funk, great-grandchildren Lukas, Liam, Kara and Joseph, and step-great-grandchildren Austin and Caden, special friend Frank Lang, nieces, nephews and many friends. The family would like to thank her neighbors in the mobile home park for their help and thoughtfulness during her illness. They would also like to thank Sun Coast Hospice for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Animal Coalition of Tampa, 8501 Ladue Ln, Tampa, FL 33614 in Mary’s name. A private memorial service for family will be held.
At a later date, a gathering of friends and family will be held to celebrate Mary’s life.
