Mary Alice Wells was born with wit and sass in November 25th 1937 in Largo FL. She was the youngest of her 9 siblings and spent her youth growing up in Florida. She met the love of her life, Filiberto Veltri, when she was 17 and he 21 at the beach in Clearwater FL. For him, it was love at first sight but Mary wasn't all that certain. However in the end, Filiberto won her over and they married on April 7th in 1955 and later had two beautiful children, Angela M. Veltri and John P. Veltri.
Their love endured the years as Filiberto traveled around the globe while in service to the United States Air Force, sometimes together with Mary and sometimes apart. They made a home in the United Kingdom, Turkey, and various cities throughout the United States. However, they always found themselves back in Florida.
No matter where Mary found herself throughout the years, she always found ways to bring her love of interacting with people into the world by volunteering at the local schools where her grandchildren attended, partaking in church services, roaming her local flea markets, or working with her husband to educate the community on Native American history.
With dedication and patience, Mary and Filiberto were together for 66 years. Mary had 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
On June 26th 2021, Mary made her way home to the Kingdom of Heaven due to illness. She was the last of the Wells siblings remaining. She is remembered by her husband Filiberto, her son John, and her remaining family.
