Born in 1941 in Oceanside, New York, to Angela and John Tuck, Maryann was raised in Rockville Centre, where she developed the generous spirit, strong faith, and caring nature that would define her life.
While she enjoyed teaching fourth grade at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School, the role she treasured most was that of mother. Nothing brought her greater pride or happiness than raising her children and creating a warm, loving home for her family.
Her desire to serve began at an early age. As a young teenager, she organized a “Penny Carnival” and donated all of the proceeds to those in need — a reflection of the giving heart that remained with her throughout her life. Whether helping a neighbor, supporting her parish, or caring for family and friends, Maryann found joy in putting others first. A devoted Catholic, Maryann’s faith was the foundation of her life. She lived her beliefs through acts of compassion, service, and unwavering love, inspiring those around her with her quiet strength and steadfast devotion.
Maryann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, James J. McCarthy. She is survived by her children, Jimmy, Lori, and Dana; her grandchildren, Shannon, Stephen, Brayden, and Flynn; and her siblings, Johnny and Billy Tuck, Joan Johnson, and Cathy Murphy, all of whom will forever cherish her love, faith, and the countless memories she created with them.
