Maureen Gail Tomski, loyal wife and loving mother of three children, died in her sleep on the evening of January 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with Type 2 diabetes. Maureen was born, the youngest of five children, on November 27, 1954 in Tampa to John David Brandenberger and Martha Helen Brandenberger. Her zest for life was apparent to all who knew and loved her....family, friends nurses and doctors, fellow teachers, former students, and those who benefited from her random acts of kindness. Nothing was reserved about Maureen: she laughed hard & loudly; she worked intensely both in the medical and education professions as a Respiratory Therapist & RN, and as a elementary school teacher; and, she protected her children with a ferocity only a fool would challenge! Her siblings will attest to her strong constitution as young child who never backed down from a challenge, an admirable trait that served her well when faced with life's unspeakable losses as an adult, especially the loss of her child Casey. Maureen was truly lovable and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Lucien Tomski, her son Branden Tomski, her daughter Shanna Tomski, her two brothers Mickey Brandenberger & John Brandenberger, her two sisters Stormy Brandenberger & Peggy Kaiser, her sisters-in-law, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dunedin at 3:00 pm- 5 pm at Friendship Hall, 411 Wood Street, Dunedin 34698 on Saturday, February 17th Guests should use the entrance at Douglas Avenue.
