Abed Michael Naqshabandi was born April 20, 1991 in Tampa, FL and left us on September 23, 2019 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was known as “Michael,” “Aboodi,” and “Mizzo.” He was a dearly loved son, a grandson, a nephew, a boyfriend, a bro, a comedian, a fisherman, a football fan, and an awesome salesman. Michael’s energy was always overflowing, and it, his 156 IQ, and his genuine heart kept him bouncing. This world and Michael weren’t in sync and he found great highs and low lows and managed to be kind, funny and loving despite it. His father, Samer Naqshabandi passed away in Tampa 2008. Michael is survived by his mother Lisa Flaherty-Ortega, his maternal grandparents, Richard Flaherty and Penny Flaherty, and his paternal grandfather, Abdulrahman Thuraya and grandmother, Wafa Adel. He is also survived by his maternal aunts, Susan Flaherty and Kathy Flaherty, his cousin, Casimir Gaul-Berrard, his cousin, Ondine Gaul-Berrard, his paternal aunt, Nisreen Naqshabandi and his uncle, Saad Naqshabandi. He leaves all his family and many, many friends too early and he will be missed. He’s found peace finally and he’s going to be a great Angel. He will never be forgotten. He is going to be cremated after his Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 5, so afterwards instead of heading to the cemetery those who can join us, are invited to gather at Weaver Park in Dunedin. We will release lanterns into the sky off the fishing pier there and have food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to one of the following organizations in Michael’s memory: PERC https://exoffender.org/donations/donate-to-perc/ or Operation PAR https://www.operationpar.org/

However unbearable the loss, it was a beautiful tribute, Lisa. The memories you and others shared conveyed the sweetest and most vivid picture of Michael. I'm imagining him with my brother Rick, another outlier God mercifully called home, albeit agonizing for us. Trusting in the promise of heaven: All JOY. No SORROW.
Prayers and blessings.
