Michelle Nanette Newsome-Humbert passed away on September 22, 2020 at just 52 years old. She was born in Mount Holly, NJ on January 12, 1968 to Robert and Judith Newsome. Michelle grew up as the middle child of three girls. Her sisters, Kim Sanders and Paula Timmreck, have many fond memories of summers at the Jersey Shore, going to the boardwalk, swimming, and boating. In the winter, they enjoyed ice skating and playing in the snow. When Michelle was 15 years old, she met Brian Humbert and they married 3 years later. She always dreamed of being a mother and gave birth to a son, Devin Humbert, on November 14th, 1987. Over the next eight years, she welcomed three more children, Katrina, Dakota and Spencer Humbert. They moved often but landed in Florida in 1998. There was nothing that Michelle loved more than spending time with her family and friends. Michelle welcomed many people into her home during holidays and special occasions. She had a special way of making those around her feel like they were part of the family. She became a grandmother in 2006, when Malaina Nanette was born. Years later, she was blessed with two more granddaughters, Avery Grace and Stella Michelle. Michelle loved to create memories and enjoyed travelling. She showed admirable strength during difficult situations. Her husband was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and passed away in 2012. Knowing her four young children were watching, she continued to live life to the fullest, while modeling this behavior for her children. People who knew Michelle often refer to her as a light. She had a way of being there when someone needed her, and always knew just what to say or do. Although she is no longer with us, that does not mean her light has gone out. She shines down and continues to live inside of those who loved her. Now it is our job to live in a way that will let her light shine through.

A service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday October 17th at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater. If you are interested in attending the service virtually, please see the information below. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87562053659?pwd=bS9QdmRsMXZkdm1Manp4RERxcmg0QT09

So many good words describe Michelle. She was strong, brave, positive, caring. A light, as the tribute above so perfectly says. Michelle was my niece. It seemed we always lived miles and miles apart but somehow, through her efforts, the connection held. Michelle had more than her share of difficult challenges but met them head on in a style all her own. Although I was years her elder, she was for me a positive role model.

There will always be a special place in my heart growing up with Michelle, Kim and Paula..life was so much different then. No cell phones, nothing but our imaginations..so many childhood memories when her and kim would make fake ghosts and hang them in front of windows at uncle Bob and Aunt Judys house..when we were litlle..Nothing but words and thoughts playing together in uncle Bobs new pool i watched my pop pop uncle bob and my father installing in medford N.J. I love and miss you already but i know without a doubt your looking at us from Heaven...love always Mickey

Michelle and I met in 2014. She lost Brian in 2012 and new the pain of grieving. She was there for me when I lost my husband of 32 years. Im from Ohio and whether phone calls or occasional visits to Florida she would encourage me. I will miss her. And was very blessed to know her. God bless her family

We first met Michelle when she was about 7 years old. Even at that age, she was always the “little mother” for Paula and our daughter Brenda. For many years we did so many things together— boating on the Mullica River, birthday parties and picnics! We always felt the girls were our family, too. Michelle always had a smile on her face, she was always happy. I remember Bob & Judy would always keep their Christmas tree up until after January 12, Michelle’s Birthday. Her wedding to Brian was such a beautiful day. Even though we were never able to get to Florida to meet their children,I was sure they would be raised to be great people! I loved the way Michelle had lived life to the fullest even after Brian’s passing. I will always remember her smile and her caring ways. Our sympathy to her entire family and the many friends she left behind. I am sure she will be a very special Guardian Angel.

Bob and Family,

We so fondly remember Michelle and the heart she had for others. She never gave up trying to find a cure for her Cancer. She loved like no other. Her family was her strength. She loved being with her friends who were so very supportive to her during her illness. We can only hope that we would be as brave as Michelle. Her memory will last a lifetime. Her strength and love will last forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Like her Mom, Judy, she always put others first. Praying for you and your family. May God continue to shower you with strength and comfort.

Bpb and Children - I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your daughter and mother. Michelle was a very loving, kind and lively woman. She loved God and her faith was very evident. I knew her through FreshStart church and she was very welcoming to me. She was a wonderful woman who knew how to live and have fun. Family was everything to her. She will be missed. I pray for God's peace, comfort and strength to help you during this time.
