Mildred Pearl Gosselin (Gilbert), Age 94, of Navarre Florida, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021 with loving family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ludger Gosselin of 36 years, her beloved sons, Richard Chase and Russell Theriault. Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Robert Gilbert and wife, Nancy of Boynton Beach, FL; sons, William Theriault of Dry Branch, GA and Eldon Chase of Derry, NH; daughters, Lyn and husband, Kevin O’Brien of Salem, NH, Cheryl and husband, retired MSGt, USAF Stephen Camire of Navarre, Florida, Carol Bolin and Linda Harvey. She is Grandmother to 16 cherished Grandchildren and many greatly loved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was born on December 19, 1926 in East Hampton, MA. She was the daughter of the late, Florence P Gilbert (Knight) and Alfred L Gilbert. They moved to Methuen, MA when she was a child where she grew up and attended Stephen Barker School and graduated from Methuen High School.
She started her own dog grooming business out of her home and raised and bred poodles and went on to win many ribbons for her talent in training and grooming. She worked several years at New York Toy in Lawrence, MA, and also worked for Western Electric in North Andover, MA for many years. She and her husband, Ludger, were transferred to California by the company and spent six happy years there with their children before moving back to New England. They both retired and headed to New Port Richey, FL where they built their retirement home. She was loved by all in the community as she was involved in Club House activities and shows and her volunteer work in the community.
After the loss of her beloved husband, she relocated to her daughter and son in law’s home in Navarre, FL where she lived out 17 happy years.
Mildred loved spending summers at Lake Shore Park on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH with her husband Ludger, where she entertained family, friends and grandchildren. They bought a home on the Marina to watch the boats passing by and teach their grandchildren to fish off the dock. One of her favorite hobbies was interior design. She had an eye for beautiful artifacts and decorating her home brought her much enjoyment. She also had a love of architecture and designing several of her homes to be constructed was a source of great enjoyment and satisfaction to her.
Mildred is remembered best for her love of family, hospitality to all, helping others, her perpetual warm smile and her sense of humor. She lived life to the fullest and touched the lives of so many.
