Mildred R. "Millie" LaBorn, 83, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 in Largo, Florida. Born on June 2, 1943, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Millie lived a life marked by deep faith in Jesus Christ, and unwavering dedication to family.
Millie began her working life at Itasca Bank and Trust. After her children started attending Medinah Christian School, she became a Kindergarten Teacher Aid. When all the children graduated she began working at a yarn store in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
She loved to garden when the kids were younger. She would can her own vegetables and make a really mean tomato soup that was better than Campbells. She loved to knit and loved to teach others to knit or crochet. Every Christmas, the daughters and grandchildren knew they were going to get one of her beautifully hand-knitted sweaters. Her other hobbies included Sewing, Cross-Stitch, Needlepoint and working in her Word Search Puzzles
When she was first married, they lived above a chicken coup and their first dinner she cooked she burnt because the directions never told her to flip the chicken over. But dad still ate it. This was a story that she told the grandchildren when they were getting married.
Millie was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She was a deeply spiritual woman who loved the Lord with all her heart and modeled that faith daily to those around her. Before moving to Florida, she was a Charter Member at Medinah Baptist Church in Medinah, Illinois. After moving to Florida, she became a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Largo, Florida. She attended Suncoasters with the seniors, helped out in the nursery, sent out Church Mailings for the people that are Shut-In, and helped with Grief Share. She also lead a group of ladies once a month for a luncheon at a restaurant in Largo.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Thomas Piedlow, her Mother, Irene Piedlow, her Loving Husband, Walter LaBorn, her Sister, Lois Guidice, and her Daughter, LeAnn LaBorn.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Tim LaBorn (Beverly), Tammy Hayden (Noel), and Wendy LaBorn; her siblings, Joan Dickey (Harold) and Wallace Piedlow (Caren); her fifteen grandchildren: Matthew Donnelly, Joshua Donnelly (Ashley), Amber Donnelly (Mikey), Tyler Donnelly (Carolyn), Jerry Donnelly, Travis Donnelly, Abigail Schroeder (RJ), TJ LaBorn, Cassaundra Schneider (Sabastain), Cloe Donnelly, Shelby Donnelly, Malachi LaBorn, Peter LaBorn, Sawyer Donnelly, and Isaiah LaBorn; and, twelve great-grandchildren.
