He was born on July 14, 1955, in Živinice, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the late Kaja and Budimir Vlacic.
Mirko was a skilled electrician by trade, known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Outside of work, he found joy and peace in fishing—whether in rivers, lakes, or the open sea. He was also a passionate and highly competitive chess player, earning numerous awards and proudly holding membership in the St. Petersburg Chess Club.
In quieter moments, Mirko enjoyed building model boats, a hobby that reflected his patience, precision, and love for craftsmanship.
Above all, Mirko was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Jela Vlacic; his sons, Petar Vlacic and Nikola (Brianna) Vlacic; his brother, Sreto (Fazila) Vlacic; and his cherished grandchildren, Sonja Vlacic and Luka Vlacic. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will forever remember his kindness, strength, and generous spirit.
Mirko’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the family he cherished, and the lives he touched.
