Monica Thomas

Monica Thomas, age 62, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Monica was born on July 30, 1962 in Morton Plant Hospital to the late (Rufus Everett Sr.) and Alberta Everett. She attended Northward Elementary, Dunedin Middle School, and Clearwater High School. She joined Mt. Olive AME Church. She song in the choir and was a member of the YPD under sister Margie Stonum. Monica worked as a housekeeper and cook, which she had a great passion for.

She transitioned this earthly life to her eternal home on August 13, 2024 at Kensington Nursing Home of Clearwater, Florida.

Monica was preceded in death by her father Rufus Everett Sr. and Melinda Thomas. She leaves precious memories: her mother, Alberta Everett, son, Tyrone Mason Jr., grandchildren, Tyler of Miami; Tanner of Ft. Lauderdale; and Cristian of Miami; sisters, Patricia Everett and Ruthette Everett, both of Clearwater; her brother, Rufus Everett Jr. of Greensville, South Carolina; Aunts, Irene (Willie) Blackwell, of Jacksonville, FL; Willie Mae McGee of Inverness, FL; uncle, Johnny Nair of Jacksonville, FL; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Monica will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mount Olive AME Church, 600 Jones Street, Clearwater, FL 33755. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 600 Jones Street, Clearwater, Florida 33755. A reception will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 600 Jones Street, Clearwater, Florida 33755.
