

Myrtle Smith Curran, age 106, passed away peacefully leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her warm heart, gently spirit, and the many lives she touched through her years. Born in Copper Hill, Virginia, on November 25, 1919, she resided in Pinellas County for most of her adult life and passed away on June 2, 2026 in Dunedin, Florida. She was a founding member of the Skycrest United Methodist Church on Drew St. in Clearwater and volunteered many hours at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Washington Smith and Cassie Lou Blankenship, her husband, William Bruce Curran, and her two daughters, Patricia Curran and Deborah Curran.
Myrtle was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her son, James T. Curran, wife, Jeanne Curran, and her granddaughters Yvonne Curran and Sheri Curran.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
Though, Myrtle will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the lasting impact she made and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
