Born on January 5, 1940, in Kalamata, Greece, Pericles immigrated to the United States in 1955, where he built a full and vibrant life. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and later graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology. He went on to become a licensed beautician; and, alongside his beloved wife Evy, opened and operated their own beauty school, while also owning and managing several other businesses throughout the years.
Pericles was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren above all else. He found great joy in holidays and gatherings with his siblings, extended family, his koumbaro, koumbara and dear friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor—a lively blend of Greek and English (“Greek-lish”) that could light up any room. Above all, he was a faithful Greek Orthodox Christian who lived his faith deeply and sincerely.
In his final days, he found comfort in knowing he would soon be reunited with his beloved mother, his brothers, uncles, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law and especially his father, whom he lost more than eighty years ago.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Evy; his son, Spiro (Nancy); his daughter, Stathia (James); his granddaughter, Isabella; and his grandsons, Grant, James, and Ethan. He also leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his warmth, humor, and kindness.
Funeral services will be held in accordance with the traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Pericles’ memory to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
