Raymond E. Carlson, 84, passed away April 17, 2016, with his loving wife, Ruth by his side. He was born in Marquette, Michigan and moved with his family to Clearwater, FL in 1971.He married Ruth Kildahl in 1956. He joined the Air force during the Korean war and was stationed at Macdill Air Force base. He was the commander of the Civil Air Patrole in Marquette. He was a flight instructor and also did ambulance flights. He was an air controller at the Chicago Center in Aurora, Illinois. In the past, he enjoyed golf, shooting, fishing, and flying. He leaves his very dear wife, Ruth; daughters Emily Carlson, Clearwater; Linda Brown, Palm Harbor and Pamela Miller, Tenn.;granddaughter, Katherine Brown of Tarpon Springs, FL.; sister Barbara Sterm, Ocala and Glenn Carlson, Marquette, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Burial will be private
