Richard T. Clark was born August 31, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Paulissen, his sister Dorothy Doubek, his brother, Bob Clark and his son, Paul Clark. He is survived by his son Mark Clark, Mark’s wife Mary Ann Clark, his daughter Suzanne D’Andria, her husband Lou D’Andria and his grandchildren: John D’Andria, Ellie D’Andria, Matthew D’Andria and Sarah Jean Clark.
Richard “Dick” was an alum of Notre Dame University, received his CPA from the University of Illinois and his MBA from Northwestern University. He worked his entire career at Northern Illinois Gas Company.
Dick was a die-hard Notre Dame fan, attending games every year and reunions whenever he could. Whenever any Notre Dame team was playing, he was watching. His blood ran blue and gold.
He was also a devout Catholic serving in his parish wherever he lived. He did all the studies to become a deacon even though he was never ordained. He led bible studies, gave communion to the sick and homebound and assisted in masses as a sacristan.
He and Jean loved golf and travel. Dick traveled all around Europe in the army, and Dick and Jean traveled the globe together.
They retired to Florida in 1991 and never looked back. They were able to golf year round, travel everywhere and create a community they loved.
Dick loved being a grandpa. Known as “grandpa Cheez-it” by the grandkids, he came every winter through the cold and snow to spend Christmas with his grandkids.
Dick was a generous, gregarious man who never knew a stranger. He could make a connection with anyone he met. He will be fondly remembered by everyone who crossed his path.
He will be truly missed.
