Richard K. Pickens, age 71, of Saint Petersburg, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Richard was born in DeKalb, Illinois on February 22, 1952. He was the son of John and Louise (Carstedt) Pickens who preceded him in death, along with an infant sister, Elizabeth. Richard is survived by his loving wife Liza, daughter Kelly (Darryl) Ambler of Safety Harbor, FL, grandson Griffin Ambler and brothers John (Pam) Pickens of DeKalb and Bill (Christine) Pickens of Carol Stream, Illinois. Richard was an esteemed employee of Cox Lumber, and later Tibbetts Lumber, for well over 40 years. The family thanks the staff at the Masonic Home of Florida for their unwavering and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Masonic Home of Florida in Rich’s name at 3201 1st St NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704 or to the Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Coalition at www.multiplesystematrophy.org. Services for Richard were held privately.
