

Robert was born on December 16, 1952 in Manhattan, New York, to Santa Janelli Beckman and Robert Joseph Beckman. He was a proud graduate of St. Agnes High School in New York, Class of 1970. He continued his education at Manhattan College, graduating in 1975, and later attended the University of Missouri in 1976.
Robert dedicated 37 years of his life to education. A teacher at heart, he taught Physical Education and Health as well as Driver’s Education. He also shared his passion for athletics as a coach, guiding and encouraging generations of students through Track & Field, Girls Basketball, and Football. He retired from teaching in 2017.
Outside of his career, Robert enjoyed an active and adventurous life. He loved golf, tennis, kayaking, boating, bowling, and softball. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends and the many relationships he built throughout his life.
Robert is survived by his beloved spouse, Rebecca M. Beckman, and Susan Beckman, mother of Amy and Ryan.
He is also survived by his children, Amy E. Bossone and Anthony Bossone, and Ryan Beckman and Kathi Beckman.
Robert was a loving stepfather to T. Michael Eylward and Belinda Hardwick; Daniel J. Eylward and Jennifer Eylward; Amy L. Capogna; Kyle P. Eylward; and Jacob A. Eylward and Ali Eylward.
He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Anthony “Tony” Bossone, Mason Bassone, Marin Bossone, Aiden Eylward, Nicholas Nocera, Bella Hardwick, Ansley Capogna, Delaney Capogna, Addison Eylward, Reese Beckman, Brady Beckman, Caroline Eylward, and Chloe Eylward.
Robert will be remembered for his dedication to his students, his love of sports and the outdoors, his friendship, the love he shared with his family, and most of all, how he brought laughter into everyone's life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
