Robert G. Floyd

Robert G. Floyd, 85, of Dunedin Florida, passed away on March 10, 2025. He was born in North Manchester, Indiana on July 12, 1939 to parents Robert and Betty Floyd. After high school, Robert received his bachelor’s degree at Manchester College. In 1961, he married his first wife Barbara Beam and together they raised their children, Lisa, Robert and Betsy. In 1962, he joined the Army and served his country for 6 years.

After his military service, Robert worked for over 30 years at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company as a VP of Policy Holder Services. In 1993, Robert married his wife of 31 years, Linda Floyd. They relocated from Indiana to the Dunedin, Florida area that same year.

Robert was considered a very selfless and kindhearted man. The type of person to do acts of service for others when no one else was watching. He was an avid car enthusiast. One of his most beloved projects was restoring a first car, the 1932 Chevy. He was very active at the Skycrest United Methodist Church that he attended for the last three years. He was an involved and friendly neighbor in his park community. Robert enjoyed spending time at the beautiful Honeymoon Island. He was a huge jokester at heart with a wonderful sense of humor, but most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Linda Floyd, children Lisa (Wes) Couch, Robert (Erin) Floyd, and Betsy Furlani, Step-Children Malinda Miller Bell, Ted (Jackie) Miller, and April (Dale) Lehman, Grandchildren Nathan Floyd, Lindsey Floyd, Rory Furlani, Ethan Couch, and Addy Couch, Step-Grandchildren Amanda Miller, Sean Miller, Brenden Lehman, Nathaniel Bell, Christian Miller, and Isaac Miller, and brother William Floyd, and many more extended family members.

He is preceded in death by the mother of his children Barbara Beam, and parents Robert and Betty Floyd.

A memorial Service will be held at Skycrest United Methodist Church, Saturday March 15, 2025 at 3:00pm. A committal service will take place at a later date in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
