

Bob was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on June 22, 1928, one of four sons of John Park McClure and Kathryn Van Winkle McClure. While serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he married Nancy Arden Newton of Taunton, Massachusetts, who preceded him in death. He served over three years in the Navy, two of which were aboard the U.S.S. Timbalier, and one in the office of the Commander in Chief of the N. Atlantic Fleet, headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia.
Bob earned his BA degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a Masters Degree from Westminster College in Pennsylvania, and did Doctoral Study at the University of Florida. He and Nancy moved to Pinellas County, Florida in 1957, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Bob chose the education field, where during that time he taught and was a Guidance Counselor for five years at Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg. He helped establish the Pinellas County Technical Education Center, serving five years as Registrar and Director of Guidance and Personal Counseling. In 1968, he became Assistant Director of Testing Services at St. Petersburg Junior College and then a counselor on the Clearwater Campus, serving 25 years at the college.
Surviving members of his family are his and Nancy's two sons, David Arden McClure, Port Richey, Florida, John Arthur McClure, Peachtree Corners, Georgia, his daughters-in-law, Cindy and Cheryl; and, a grandson, Jacob Arden McClure and his wife Anne Faith Nicholls McClure of Palm Springs, California.
Information is pending on a memorial service.
A private family service will be held at a future date at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
