Robert Keegan Morgan

Although Robert resided in Trinity Florida in his later years, he considered Newtown,Connecticut his home. He will be remembered as a husband, devoted partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, loyal friend, Korean War veteran, faithful Catholic, dedicated member of his AA community and golfer.

He attended Bishop McDonnell High School in Brooklyn, NY and graduated in 1950. Robert graduated from Fairfield University with a degree in Chemistry, class of 1954. He began his military service upon graduation from college. A Korean War veteran, Robert served stateside as a Corpsman. Once his military duty was completed he went on to build a successful career in the chemical sales industry. He retired from Rhône-Poulenc, formally known as Stauffer Chemical, after many years of service.

His commitment to serving his community continued throughout his retirement years. For more than 30 years, he was an active and dedicated member of his AA community, giving generously of his time, experience, and support to others. He was a steadfast presence to all who depended on him.

Robert's Catholic faith was a central part of his life. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Peter the Apostle Council #15779, in Trinity, Florida. After his retirement, Robert continued to serve Saint Rose of Lima Church by teaching Catholic catechism classes. He found purpose in sharing his faith and helping young people learn about the beliefs that were so important to him. His devotion to the Catholic Church, his service through the Knights of Columbus, and his willingness to give his time to others were enduring expressions of his beloved values.

Robert had a lifelong passion for golf. His time began with the sport when caddying as a boy at Fresh Meadow Country Club. He loved the game immensely. While in Connecticut he was a proud member of the Twisters. During his retirement years he enjoyed playing with his friends in Florida.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Morgan; his stepfather, Joseph Monahan, his sisters, Florence Rollero and Loretta Taravella, his wife, Margaret Mary (Looney) Morgan; his son, Gary William Morgan; his nephew Michael Rollero Sr; and his granddaughter, Mollie Ryan Lake.

Robert is survived by his longtime partner, Rosanne Waldmiller; his daughter, Suzanne B. Morgan; his son, John Patrick Morgan, and his wife, Nicole (Quesnette) Morgan; his daughter, Mary Kaye (Morgan) Lake, and her husband, Ellsworth Lake; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Morgan) Schmidt, Sarah Morgan, Samuel Morgan, Sophia Lake, Aidan Morgan, Quinn Lake, and Emily Morgan; and his great-grandchildren, Charlie and Morgan Schmidt and Rory and

Owyn Morgan. In addition to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren he is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Funeral services for Robert will be held on November 21st, 2026. A viewing of Robert's remains will take place followed by a Catholic Mass at 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, Connecticut. Internment will take place immediately after Mass at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. A reception will follow.
