MURCH, Robert A., 97 of St. Petersburg died March 9, 2016. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 21, 1918 to William and Coretta (Crusius) Murch. Bob attended schools in Manchester, Connecticut and was a miler in track. He was passionate about woodworking, fishing and golfing. He was a volunteer Firefighter in Pleasant Valley, NY. He fought in WW ll under General Patton with the 79 th Infantry Division. He was an Honor Flight participant in 2013. Bob lived in New York and Massachusetts before moving to Florida 30 years ago. He became an active member of the Downshifters of Brooklyn Car Club and the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lane. They were married for 65 years. He is survived by his three children, JoAnn, Robert, Sr. and Hal; seven grandchildren; several great-grand children and great-great grandchildren.
