Roger's birthday was on my August calendar.  I was thinking of sending a text to wish him well and googled him only to find this sad news.  Condolences from Damrosch Circle.   Roger was a good neighbor.  I miss looking for Belle and finding her visiting Sadie and hearing her happy jingle bells.  I'm sorry to hear of your family's loss.

Roger is my little brother. He was close to 3 yrs younger than me. I loved him like only a big brother could.  We were pals and best friends. We had many adventures together. Think of growing up in the 50's and 60's. For kids it was like the wild west. When dogs ran wild and your reputation was everything. We skirted the edge of the reputation line.  With me as the planner of our nightly expeditions, deep forays into the woods and up the highest trees, exploring old factories, and walking on the railroad tracks, I kept 
both of our reputations intact and us back safely to our bedrooms without detection. In other words we had a great time tempting fate. We stayed close until the mid 1970's  at which time we parted ways geographically. One of the most exciting and emotionally durable moments was Oct. 7, 1980, when he called me with the birth of his son Ryan. Five months later my son was born. this continued to keep us very close, by phone, until my job's demands made phone time precious and we gradually lost our closeness. He lived in Fl. raising his family and me in ME. doing the same. The occasional visit was always gratifying and I never stopped loving that little boy, my little brother and that boy  
will always be missed and loved and whose memory will never fade as long as I am alive. Roger I will miss you; good by little brother and always remember to protect your reputation,  and don't get caught! Walt
