Ronda Rea Smith

Ronda had a special place in her heart for children and devoted many years of her life to working as a preschool teacher. She found great joy in nurturing and caring for young children, and her natural love for children and young people was evident to all who knew her. Ronda was also deeply involved with both Hope Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she spent many years participating in and helping with the church’s youth group.

A graduate of Clearwater High School, Ronda later completed a course in medical assisting. Throughout her life, she was known for her caring nature and the genuine affection she showed to those around her. She especially treasured her many nieces and nephews and loved keeping up with the happenings in their lives.

Some of Ronda’s happiest moments were found in the simple things. She loved “hanging out” with her mom, Myrna, and being her constant companion. She enjoyed watching her favorite programs on the Game Show Network, connecting with friends on Facebook, and spending time with her beloved dog, Lexi. Ronda had a particular fondness for dogs and could always be counted on to follow anything and everything dog-related.

Ronda will be remembered for her love of family, her affection for children and animals, and the many everyday moments she shared with the people she loved. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and genuine love for those around her will be deeply missed.

Ronda was preceded in death by her father, G. Kirk Smith, and her niece, Jaclyn Cournoyer.

She is survived by her loving mother, Myrna Quidley Smith; sisters, Deborah Cournoyer, Jana Shriver and her husband, Brian, and Lisa Vaughn and her husband, Chris; brother, Frank K. Smith and his wife, Kelly; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Ronda’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sylvan Abbey. The service will be officiated by Kathy of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

A private burial will take place at a later time.
