Rosetta Wood Merricks

Rosetta was the daughter of late Lewis and Narcissa Woods of Hardaway, Alabama

Rosetta was a devoted member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Clearwater, Florida.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, fishing and watching wrestling on TV.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Henry Merricks, George Beckford, and Edmond White Jr.; her parents, Lewis and Narcissa Wood; her brothers, Willie and James Jackson; her son, Curtis White; her daughter, Perdencie White; and her grandsons, Frankie O'Neal James and Jonathan White.

Rosetta is survived by her children, Beatrice Garrett (Julius), Rose Goodloe (Alvin), Lisa Beckford, and George Beckford (Renee); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; her aunt, Marian Kendrick; her uncles, Lucas, Lawrence, and Emerson; her brother-in-law, Adolphus Merricks; and many other loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Sylvan Funeral Home, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at St. James A.M.E. Church located at 1436 South Madison Avenue, Clearwater Florida 33756 with interment following at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park Cemetery, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
