Dr. Rudolph Donald Schwager of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the age of 85. Don was born to parents, Rudolph W. Schwager and Alice F. Doss, on September 17, 1932 in Englewood, NJ. He grew up in St. Petersburg, FL. He acquired a Doctorate in Education and worked as a high school counselor for the Pinellas School system, he never took a sick day. He served as a Marine Merchant during the Korean War and worked on disaster recovery in Greece during the Ionian Earthquake.
Don loved the ocean, military history, Casablanca, Vikings and American geography and was able to travel to all the states in the US with his beloved wife.
Don is survived by his wife, Nohora, Alexander and Rie; his sister and brother-in-law, Doris and husband Robert and their three children, Deborah Powell Osborn, Robert Stephen Powell Jr., and David William Powell; and their grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph W. and Alice.
A funeral is scheduled for a later date at the Peacefield Mausoleum in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, with a reception to follow at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
