In 1952, Sal enlisted in the United States Navy. Sal achieved the rank of Captain and retired in 1980 after a 29 year naval career. Sal was an avid golfer and was so excited to have hit two one in holes in his lifetime. Sal was a Suncoast Hospice volunteer for many years.
Sal is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Assunta, his beloved wife, Patricia and two grandsons, Adam Vestri and David Long.
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his brother, five (5) children, thirteen (13) grandchildren and nine (9) greatgrandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760-3407.
A viewing will be held 9-10:30am Tuesday, February 11 at the Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home; 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, followed by a Mass to celebrate Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena, 1955 Belcher Rd., Clearwater at 11:00 am. Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
