September 20, 1941 – July 6, 2025
“A tender heart that loved deeply and gave endlessly.”
It is with both sorrow and gratitude that we remember the life of Mrs. Teresita Vera Villanueva — a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of the Lord. Born on September 20, 1941, in Manila, and raised in Masambong, Quezon City, as the daughter of Marcela Mandap Vera & Captain Jose Miko Vera—a distinguished police officer and founder of Precinct No. 3 in Quezon City. She grew up in a large and loving family with eight siblings: Reynaldo, Rolando, Adoracion, Alfonso, Milagros, Jose Jr., Dominador, and Remedios.
From a young age, she showed quiet strength, a heart for service, and a deep care for others. On May 27, 1961, she married Romeo Villanueva, and together they raised eight children: Cynthia (with husband Francis), Enrique (with wife Grace), Senen (with wife Ligaya), Flor (with husband Joseph), Romeo Jr., Teresa (with partner Jim), Rommel, and Alvin (with wife Khiem).
Her life was full of love and sacrifice—not just for her family, but for everyone God placed in her path. She nurtured and guided her children with gentleness, and later became a grandmother to ten grandchildren: Kevin, Eunice, Sean, Erika Marie, Jordan, Jaiden, Carlos, Jericho, and Erika.
In 1991, she moved to the United States to live with and care for her children. Even in a foreign land, she worked tirelessly—with gentle hands and a willing heart—as a caregiver in Florida and later as a deli associate at Publix, where her humility and kindness left lasting impressions. Her passions included gardening, ballroom dancing, and cooking for her loved ones. But above all else, she was a woman of deep, enduring faith. In her earlier years, she served as an usher in her home church in the Philippines, and her spiritual walk never faded. Her faith wasn’t loud—it was lived. In her patience. In her strength. In how she endured hardship, raised her children, and remained patient and kind in all things.
She believed in hard work and lived it. She was resourceful, wise, and never gave up. She always found a way—even when resources were few or days were hard. She was generous beyond words, kind beyond measure, and loving without limits. She rarely spoke of herself, but always asked how others were doing. Her hands were never idle; her heart was never closed. She passed these traits to her children, and in them her legacy continues—a legacy of faith, resilience, & unconditional love
On the night of July 6, 2025, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Florida, surrounded by the love of her children, she quietly took her final breath and joined our Creator. It was a quiet moment—full of love, just as she had lived. She was 83 years old.
We mourn her deeply, but we celebrate her completely. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her memory, her words, and her love will live on in all whose lives she touched. She now rests in eternal reward and her journey complete in the presence of her Lord and Savior, whom she wholeheartedly trusted.
A committal service for Teresita will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759.
