He spent his childhood in Illinois, prior to moving to Appleton, Wisconsin. While living in Wisconsin, Tom was president of a credit union and had an active banking career. He moved to Florida in 1992 where he and his wife owned and operated their gift basket business for 10 years before retirement. Tom loved his wife and family and followed sports, including his Green Bay Packers.. Tom is survived by his loving wife Mary of 45 years, daughter Wendy Stroup (Dave), grandchildren Matthew and Abby, and brothers Walt (Priscilla) and Jim (Joan). Tom always carried this special verse in his wallet which we share with you. "Do not stand by my grave and weep, I am not there. I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow. I am a diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn rain. When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swept uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starshine at night. Do not stand by my grave and cry, I am not there...I did not die." Anonymous
