March 14th 1944 – May 26th 2018
Tom went to be an Angel on Saturday May 26th after a courageous battle with cancer. Not only was Tom the most amazing Father and Husband he was a fierce friend. Tom was the self designated neighborhood watch who always looked out for his neighborhood family. Mr. Tom loved his neighborhood grandchildren, Owen and Emma, and would always have bags of candy and treats ready for them when they visited.
You could always find Tom with his Daughter on the golf course, fishing boat or a in a theme park enjoying Daddy and Daughter time. He was always teaching her the “right” way to do and fix things or as we call it “Tom’s way.” For the lessons, love and friendship I am forever grateful Pop.
In his down time you always find Tom sitting in his Man Cave watching MASH, cooking shows, American Pickers, along with various sporting events. While in the Man Cave you could join Tom while he was enjoying an ice cold 7&7 with fresh made ice cubes waiting on the telemarketers to call. Tom had a special boat air horn just for them. Tom also enjoyed spending time with family, having backyard barbecues and bonfire night.
Thomas was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Army as a Green Beret and Light Weapons Expert. After his military career he worked for the Department of Transportation for 33 years before retiring. His friendships formed there still last to day. To Johnny, Craig, Mr. Henley and Mr. Newell, thank you for your continued years of friendship.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Jeannie (Flisnik) Cichowicz, sisters Geraldine McBee and Diana Walters. Thomas is survived by Joan, his wife of 49 years. His daughter Valerie, daughter-in-law Katrina, Grandog Jax Miller, sister Joanne Romanowski (Ernie) and great friend Susan Barron. His niece and nephew Barbara and Nick Fedele and great nieces Gianna and Mara Fedele. Nieces and Nephews Ginger, Marci, Tony, Juliann (Miranda and Matt) Jennifer (Natalie) KC, Melissa (Natalie, Jacob and Jack) Julie (Blake and Dylan)
Daddy, you are one hell of an amazing man and Father. You are my best friend and my hero…ALWAYS! Fly high my guardian angel. I know you will always be here with me. Jax will get a special Grandpa pat on the head every night from you. All my love forever! P.S. Don’t cause too much trouble in Heaven.
