Born on December 11, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Katherine and Perry Quinlan, Thomas lived a life defined by devotion—to his country, his work, his family, and the simple joys that made him happiest.
A proud United States Army veteran, Thomas carried his sense of duty and integrity with him throughout his life. He began his long career with Michigan Bell Telephone Company as a coin collector and, through hard work and determination, advanced to lineman, installer, and ultimately retired from sales. His strong work ethic and steady character earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
After many cherished winters spent as a “snowbird,” Thomas and his beloved wife made Clearwater their permanent home 27 years ago. Florida’s sunshine suited him well, but wherever he lived, he brought warmth with him.
Thomas was an avid classic car collector with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and history. He loved to travel, explore new places, and was known for his remarkable ability to fix just about anything. If something was broken, family and friends knew to call Tom—he would have it working again in no time.
Above all, Thomas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 71 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rose Marie Quinlan—a testament to enduring love and partnership. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jim (Yvonne) Quinlan, Jerry Quinlan, Jeffrey Quinlan, and Janice Ryan; his brother, James Quinlan; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Erin) Quinlan, Joey Ryan, and Nicole (Kyle) Ryan; and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Gail (Carl) Logan; his grandson, Paul Quinlan; his sister-in-law, Catherine Quinlan; and his daughter-in-law, Nancy Quinlan.
Thomas leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering love. His steady presence and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later time.
