Virginia Lee Schultz, lovingly known as “Jenny,” passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, at the age of 97 in Plant City, Florida. Born on May 14, 1928, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ethel Alberta (née Kennedy) and Harvey Wesley Ward.
Jenny lived a life filled with grace, dedication, and love. She devoted more than two decades to Mease Dunedin Hospital, where she worked in the Dietary Department. During her time there, she formed lasting bonds with families, doctors, and nurses—relationships that brought her joy and fulfillment.
A woman of strong faith and community spirit, Jenny was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale in Valrico and proudly served as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Jenny had a love for life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in gardening, painting ceramics, crocheting, and, most of all, in spending time with her beloved family. Her warmth and creativity will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by her sons Barry Alan (Diane) Schultz Sr. and Harry Franklin (Mae) Schultz Jr.; grandchildren Jimmy (Ester) Heidelberg, Judy (David) Bibee, Barry Alan (Cathy) Schultz Jr., and Candice (Joey) Willoughby; as well as many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
Jenny is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband of 55 years, Harry Franklin Schultz Sr., as well as her parents and siblings: brothers Russell, Ronald, Walden, and Dougie Ward, and her sister Margaret Vulhop.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759. Jenny will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the cemetery gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Lifepath Hospice, in honor of Jenny’s compassionate spirit and giving heart.
