

Wally was born on November 20, 1944, in Port Limón, Costa Rica, to the late Amalia and Edward Odell. In 1955, his family moved from Braintree, Massachusetts, to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he would later graduate from St. Petersburg High School, Class of 1962.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life he held with great honor. Following his military service, Wally built a long and respected career as a structural draftsman ending with retirement from McCarthy and Associates in 2012.
Wally found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid sports fan who loved watching and playing golf, baseball, and many other sports. He also enjoyed sailing, nature and poetry, and above all, cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
A devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Wally was also a proud Knight of Columbus, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to his community.
In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by his sisters, Erna and Marisa Odell.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his beloved wife of 32 years, Angela H. Odell; his son, Patrick (Tricia) Odell; his daughter, Rachel (Nicholas) Marra; his granddaughters, Sofia Odell and Miller Marra; and his siblings, Edward (Anna) Odell, Mildred Kaufman, Chuck (Zoe Ann) Odell, Donna (Rick) Beckert, Laura Odell, Joanne (Robert) Skye, and Candace (Keith) Salow, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 750 San Salvador Drive, Dunedin, Florida 34698. The Funeral Mass will also be livestreamed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wally’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
