Wayne Eugene Olcott

Wayne was V.P. of Hotel Operations, Innisbrook Resort, Tarpon Springs, FL, V.P. of Development, Whitney Centers, Fort Lauderdale, FL, G.M. at Lake Lanier Island Hotel, Atlanta, GA, Ocean Resorts, Myrtle Beach, SC, Sandestin Resorts, Destin, FL, V.P./G.M. of accommodations at Cedar Fair, Sandusky, OH, also of Gulf Shores Plantation Management.

He served as President of the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce, C.H.A., Commissioner of the Myrtle Beach Convention Bureau, Outstanding Young Man of the Year by Jaycees, Environmental Quality Award by American Hotel and Motel Association, HH & MA, Leadership Pinellas, and the 1981 Governor’s Challenge Program – Leadership in Florida.

Wayne was an amazing husband, father and “Bumpa”. He had a giving and generous spirit and a heart for Jesus. He was often referred to as “Mr Fix It” and loved golfing, fishing, boating and flying remote control airplanes.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gretchen Louise Kohlmyer; daughters, Dr. Susan Louise Olcott, and Amy Michelle Jefferson, husband, Andrew Nolan Jefferson; grandson, Riess Nolan Jefferson; brother, John Olcott; and sister, Eunice Kessler.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2:00 pm until the time of memorial service at 4:00 pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater, FL.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL or Suncoast Hospice of Pinellas County.
