

William (Bill) Mawn, 86 of Floral City/Clearwater, Florida passed away on July 18, 2023 in the presence of family. Bill was born in Ridgway, PA, graduated from Villanova University and shortly thereafter moved to South Florida where he worked in insurance for many years, owning his own insurance agency, along with his wife Joy. He later retired to Floral City. Bill loved his family, golf, watching sports, was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing politics with anyone who would listen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Joy, Maxine Cook Kelly, the mother of his children, daughter Debi Alberdi (Andy), son Peter Mawn (Mara), grandchildren, Taylor (Mat), Ryan (Theresa), Alexandra (Jackson), Dyllon (Christine), Tyler (Kayleigh), Ellen, Bryson (Grace), seven great grandchildren, stepson Jean (Lisa), step grandchildren Ross, Amanda, Allie (Keenan), and three great step grandchildren.
Bill never met a stranger and his family and friends will forever miss him.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Madonna Ptak Morton Plant Rehabilitation center for the wonderful care and kindness they showed him as well as the nurses at Morton Plant Hospital who went over and above, ensuring his final days were comfortable and spent surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 19th at Espiritu Santo Catholic church’s parish center, located at 2405 Philippe Pkwy, Safety Harbor, FL. A reception and celebration of Bills life will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
