On February 24th, 1940, William “Bill” Tuomey was born in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Genevieve Tuomey. From his youth, Bill was surrounded by music. Wherever he traveled, he shared his talent to bring smiles to everyone's faces (& make extra cash).
As Bill grew up, he was in the seminary in San Diego and then had a variety of jobs. During the summers in Chicago, he met his late wife Rosanne. He was on the police force, a highly regarded Catholic School Teacher, was a radio DJ, and he was in the insurance industry. In 1986, he moved, with his family, down to Florida where he eventually became a business owner. While Bill’s work transitioned from one interest to another, his passion for music still thrived. During his varying occupations, and even after he retired, Bill continued to record and make music. He loved playing gigs and even built himself a music studio on the third floor of his condo. He eventually started his very own audio engineering and event management company under the name “Tech Audio Services”.
Bill was also known for being a family man. He was the glue that kept everyone together, especially during the holidays. He loved hosting the holiday breakfasts, which always involved the absolute best french toast and sausage links. All the food was accompanied by love, humor, and great conversations between family members. He often held fun karaoke sessions at those gatherings for the grandkids and anyone else who wanted to join in.
Bill’s creative mind and loving heart touched the lives of everyone he encountered, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth, joy, and inspiration.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanne Tuomey; Brother, John Tuomey; and his parents, Thomas “Papa Doc” and Genevieve Tuomey.
Bill is survived by his three loving children, Michael Tuomey, Laura Wizda, and Tommy Tuomey; his niece, Genevieve Calhoun; his grandkids, William Tuomey, Caitlin Rice, Roselyn Tuomey, Christa Rice, Jonathan Tuomey; his great-grandchildren, Rosalie and baby to be; his companion, Deborah Reed; and an abundance of extended family members and friends.
