Annie Ruth Newcomer Lawson 56, of Advance, NC, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of August 12, 2024. She was born to the late Thomas Morris Newcomer and Linda Gerzema Smith on January 17, 1968, in Durham, NC.
On September 17, 2005, she married her true love, Bradley Neil Lawson. Together they raised one son: Brandon Chase Newcomer. She was extremely proud to be the wife of Brad.
Annie loved her family and friends with the ferocity of a mother bear. Her love for her son was immeasurable and was always more than happy to tell you about the latest in his life. “There has never been, nor will there ever be, anything quite so special as the love between the mother and a son.”
She loved her work and touch many lives in the Arbor Acres Retirement Community, where she worked as a Concierge for over 15 years. The world is a little less bright without her in it. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Annie’s memory will be kept alive by her husband Brad, and their son, Brandon; as well as brothers, Tommy (Marie) Newcomer of Hillsborough and Chris (Alicia) Thompson of Elm City; Father and Mother-in-law; Terry and Barbara Lawson of Clemmons; Brother-in-law, Randy Lawson, of Clemmons; and nieces and nephews; River, Marissa, and Emily Newcomer, Daniel and Sarah Lawson, and her lifelong best friend, Wendy Foster Owens (Dave).
