Anthony Ikedia Egbuna

Anthony Ikedia Egbuna was born in 1959 into the Issele-uku Royal family of Chief Dominic and Maria Egbuna. He transitioned into the heavenly realm on 1 January 2022 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA.

Anthony’s childhood, marked by the end of the Nigerian Civil War, was split between Jos, Plateau State and Issele-uku. He had his primary and secondary education in the then Bendel state, graduating with distinction at both levels. Tony, as he was affectionately known by all, would go on to graduate from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, with a First Class in Social Sciences, and would later receive a Masters in Business Administration from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.

Tony had over 35 years of varied experience in financial management, banking, auditing, process improvement, strategic planning and enterprise risk management. He held senior level positions in several organizations in Nigeria and in the United States. These included: Arthur Anderson, Federal Savings Bank of Nigeria, UBA, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, and Jefferson Wells. Tony returned to Nigeria and was appointed Vice President (Investment Officer, FSI) of Africa Capital Alliance. Until his passing, he was the CFO of PNG Gas Ltd

A consummate family man, husband, father and lover of God, Tony is survived by his aged parents, brothers, sister, in-laws, cousins and many relatives. His legacy is continued by Ify, his wife of 29 years and 4 beautiful children, Toby, Dumebi, Nonnie and Kene. His family loves and will miss him deeply.
