It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Armando Marino, a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Born in Belvedere, Italy, Armando came to America at the age of 13, embarking on a journey that would define a life filled with hard work, perseverance, and deep love for his family. Shortly after settling in the United States and being honorably discharged from the Marines, he began working at a bank—an entry-level job that would mark the beginning of a long and successful career. Through dedication and determination, he rose through the ranks, eventually becoming a branch vice president. He retired after 30 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and integrity.
Retirement, however, was just the beginning of a new chapter. Following his passion for food and tradition, Armando opened a neighborhood pizza place that quickly became a local favorite. His recipes from home in Italy, made a huge difference in taste and quality. The pizzeria was not just a business, but a gathering place for friends and family alike.
Armando and his family relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he spent his final years surrounded by those he loved most.
Armando will be remembered not only for his achievements, but for the love he shared and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 3 to 7 pm at Frank Vogler & Sons, 2849 Middlebrook Dr, Clemmons, NC. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Frank Volger & Sons, Clemmons, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, https://share.google/w73vYbRCUgyHMDoz0 in honor of Armando’s generous spirit.
